My mother in law had her long awaited hip replacement op, nearly two weeks ago now. Others who had the same op on the same day went home after three days, not MIL, she was in hospital for 7 days, she wasnt eating, wouldn't do what she was told. Since being home for nearly a week now, she has improved and is walking on crutches, her frame or even without them when no one is looking. She has carers going in three times daily, but she won't really let them help. She is confused, forgets her tablets, or is taking them more than she should. We are there most evenings, but she is rude, won't listen to what we tell her. It's a very stressful time for us all.
Above are flowers that Gary surprised me with, after a bad day I had looking after his mum.
I was away in Birmingham and Manchester last week for work - again. Stressful at times, but I am hopeful of things being sorted out at last. We were entertained with a meal at a Japanese restaurant, no one asked if we all eat shell fish, or if anyone was a vegetarian, so my food that night, was some miso soup - yuk, some egg fried rice, fried veggies, and garlic chicken. The bulk of the meal was based around shell fish...
We also joined together for a 'team building' exercise, which involved a treasure hunt, scavenger hunt in teams from Altrincham into Manchester city centre. It was really good fun and I was very impressed with the city of Manchester. Hoping to go back with Gary for a long weekend for a better look around.
Easter is nearly here, I am having a couple of extra days off next week, making a really nice break.
